An antique plate celebrating the Bales Avenue Baptist Church located at the corner of Twelfth and Bales, Kansas City, Missouri. In the center of the plate is a depiction of the church along with renditions of Mrs. and Rev. H. W. Cole. The back of the plate has writing on it, it appears to say: 1907 per Mrs. Bessie Comers … Bought in Ada, Okla. June 6, 1967. In researching on the internet, I found that the Rev. Horace W. Cole became pastor of the Bales Avenue Church in 1907 and left in 1911. The plate has a diameter of 8¼ inches and is rimmed in goldtone. It is in excellent used condition without chips or cracks, it does have overall crazing.
