“The Cooking of Vienna’s Empire” cookbook by Joseph Wechsberg. A Time Life Book, it was published in 1968, the cookbook is a hard cover measuring 8½ x 11 inches with 206 pages. It is in good gently used condition; flipping through, the pages appear clean and unmarked except for a previous owner’s name printed on the first page.
The Austro-Hungarian stretched along the banks of the Danube River, encompassing the countries of Austria, Hungary, Czechoslavakia and Yugoslavia. The cookbook is full of the food history of this region filled with basic and classic recipes.
