Description
“Texas Treasury of Dutch Oven Cooking” cookbook. Compiled and published by the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society in 1997, this is a 2002 edition in association with the Lodge Manufacturing Company, so stated. The cookbook is a wire spiral bound soft cover measuring 5½ x 8½ inches with 234 pages. It is in excellent gently used condition, the pages are clean and unmarked except for two stains on the inside of the front cover.
Synopsis
This is a community cookbook prepared by the members of the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society, contributors are named. According to the introduction, “Each of the recipes in this cookbook was prepared in a competition and is tried and true.” In addition to the recipes, there is a history of Dutch Ovens, information about buying and breaking in cast iron, and tips and tricks. The recipes are divided into the categories: breakfast, main dishes, sides, soups and stews, breads, and desserts. If you love to cook with cast iron, this is the cookbook for you!
